This teacher, in a Rowan County, North Carolina school, is trying to force her political (and racist) views on school children. The thing that I am most proud of here is that they are obviously not buying it.

She brings up the story about Mitt Romney being part of a group who bullied another student in school during the sixties. It is known now that this person (who has since died) was probably gay. When a student offers the fact that Obama himself admitted to bullying a girl in school, she (the “teacher”) goes ballistic and begins to verbally assault the school kid for comparing the two incidents. She actually states that you cannot criticize a sitting President and that that amounts to disrespect, but you CAN criticize a presidential candidate, because that person has not yet achieved the office of the President.

What bothers me the most is that such an obtusely ignorant and racist woman (or man) is allowed to “teach” our children here in North Carolina. The students seem much more objective than the teacher. This woman should be fired immediately. I am sure that as soon as parents hear this audio, that will be put on the table. But I’m also as sure that, due to political and racial protection and unfairness, this woman will be allowed to continue teaching our children. If I were the parent of any one child in that classroom, or even that school, my child would be taken permanently out of there!

I wonder if this woman criticized President Bush when he was in the office? The answer is YES!! Listen to the audio of this pathetically ignorant racist as she “teaches” our children:

I was sound asleep, but then startled awake at 6:45 by the sound of a chopper flying real low to the ground. I could tell it was just southwest of me and sweeping eastward. I sleep in gym shorts and t-shirts, so I was ready to step right outside, barefooted, into the front yard. I then spotted a NC State Trooper chopper that flew directly over the house.

Seconds after I began watching the chopper, I noticed my neighbor across the street step out onto his front porch and begin to scan the sky. We’re what you call “hollerin’ distance” from one another. He hollered, “That’s a state chopper!” I nodded and grinned as I noticed that the Marine (there’s no such thing as an ex-Marine), who had fought in Vietnam, was, let’s say, in a state of protection. He’s also a preacher.

It made me grin to realize that there were those of us so close together, and I’d bet several more close by, who would jump up so early out of sleep to check out a chopper like that. It may not have happened a few years ago.

I hollered back at him, “Wonder what the skies sound like in Chicago?” He smiled and shrugged his shoulders. That’s where the city hosts the NATO summit next month, and the skies there are full of Blackhawk helicopters and more, as they practice maneuvers in preparation for the security. (They found protesters there preparing by making molotov cocktails earlier in the week).

We found out shortly thereafter that the state guys were searching for someone just north of us who had apparently walked away from their home – more than likely an elderly Alzheimer patient. Kudos to the state.

Incidentally, the accompanying photo is not the state chopper, but rather a chopper that took part in rescue practice maneuvers in close-by Baden Lake (Uwharrie).

Two rifles that cost under $200 at this posting, are the Gamo Big Cat 1250 and the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk. In my opinion, you just can’t get a better deal! Like anything else, you can spend more money and get pre-charged repeaters in larger calibers, with better triggers and scopes – but you can add some of these accessories to these rifles and still get more for your money. And, like anything else, it is what it is. Today, I’ll talk about the Gamo Big Cat 1250.

I’ll say this – the very first time I shot a Gamo Big Cat 1250 .177 cal. in a hunting situation, I propped the rifle against a dogwood tree and dropped a large rabbit with one shot at 40 yards. The pellet struck the rabbit behind the base of the right ear, and it was gone without a moment of suffering. This is after being told that rabbits would be at least a two shot proposition with this rifle.

Take into consideration that I also spent the time to sight the scope in properly before hunting with it. The shot was taken with the inexpensive Daisy pointed lead pellets that my son had on hand, with just a slight breeze.

I like iron sights. If your scope goes whacky right in the middle of the hunt, you can always take it off and use the iron sights. This rifle DOES NOT COME WITH IRON SIGHTS! But that can be overlooked with this one. Use a little lock-tite on the machine screws and keep your eyes on possible scope “creeping”. There’s a good bit of recoil with this spring powered rifle, and creeping can occur. There is a warning etched into the metal just below the rail on the left side of the gun. I keep the front edge of the front mount just above the “u” in the word “using” and the front edge of the rear mount just above the “m” in “Gamo” for reference points to check for creeping. Also, you might need to sight it in before going out each time. Just go throw a few pellets into the target before you head out and fine tune it, if need be.

The Gamo scope that comes with the rifle is a 4×32 scope. It is nice looking and is more than adequate for this rifle and its job, in my opinion. I’ve used expensive scopes off other rifles out of curiosity, but I have put the Gamo scope back on. You need to be within a certain range to have clean kills on squirrels and rabbits with a .177 cal., and this scope “keeps you there”.

Like anything else, you’ll need to experiment in different pellet configurations and materials. Hollow points fly different than domes do, etc., etc. I get a good sight in with my favorite pellets, which are also cheap, and then adjust for other pellet types. It pays to write down the sighting adjustments you have come up with, in case you are as forgetful as I am.

Realize this, also. This rifle is medium-range loud. You’ll get one good shot off before the squirrels scatter, so make it count! It’s not suppressed. You’ll also get a bit of recoil that may or may not surprise you. It takes energy to fling a pellet at this velocity!

If I get too scientific with something, I just don’t enjoy it as much. The Gamo Big Cat 1250 is the kind of rifle that you can take the time to sight in, get used to the trigger and then just point and shoot. I absolutely LOVE it! I paid $129.00 for mine and also got a frame and can target set with it for free. It came with 50 PBA pellets.

My whole point with this rifle has been cost, ammo expense, upkeep and ease of use in a survival situation. In the spirit of “it is what it is”, I give the Gamo Big Cat 1250 a ten out of ten – no kidding. Get your own before Gamo distributors realize they can easily get more for this gun!

Obama surely must have been required to proof read the description and therein lies the problem. Either way, Obama’s problems with the truth and his willingness to promote himself at all costs must have begun early on.

Is there reason to dig a bit farther into Obama’s past and the reasons he has become what he is today? I’d say, “yes!” But I’d bet Barack Hussein Obama would rather not.

In fact, I believe that Barack Hussein Obama would probably just as soon throw all of his revealing past into a certain LIMOUSINE and light a match. You reckon? And you gotta ask yourself; “What’s the accompanying photo got to do with all of this, anyway?”

He is the Congressman who, in Obama’s congressional speech of 2009, yelled out, “You lie!” Instead of being censured as he was, he should have been lauded for being the only man in the room with the gall to tell it as it is!

I’m leaving technology and all its stress behind for a few days. That is, except for my Nook e-book reader. I’ve got it loaded down with everything from my favorite thrillers to instructions on what to put in your bug out bag. I didn’t realize there were so many proper ways to load your bug out bag.

I plan to park my vehicle, and then carry everything I need on my back. I’ll know where camp is when I get there. I’ll also bring along the two air rifles mentioned below to field test. That’ll add about 15 lbs. to my load.

Perhaps the most important item I’ll bring is a hammock. I plan to spend the greatest portion of my time there, so two trees in the right positions will be one of the main determinants in where I hang my hat for the weekend.

I’m not going to absorb any news for these few days, or study political events so that I can rant for a few paragraphs on these pages. Nope! This weekend, I won’t need Hydrochlorothiazide to regulate my blood pressure. If anything, I’ll need something to jump start me out of my deep relaxation mode on the last day.

Funny thing about getaways. We look forward to them for such a long time, and then they seem to end so quickly. But I’m not going to count down the minutes like I have on previous vacations and getaways. Nope, I’m just going to sit back and notice what God has put here for us to enjoy and I’m going to thank Him for it.

I have to admit – I failed to mention one more piece of technology I’ll be bringing. That would be my cell phone – and for obvious reasons. My family could possibly need to get in touch. There’s one more not-so-obvious reason I’ll bring my cell phone. Should my MRE’s and my campfire cuisine fail to satisfy my spoiled palette, I’ll need my phone to call for delivery by one of those new taco copter drones:

Okay, enough about the news of the pathetic.

I just wanted to issue a heads-up about an upcoming field test report on both the Gamo Big Cat 1250 and the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk, both in .177 cal. I’ll follow up shortly thereafter with a review of the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk in .22 cal.

This will not be so much a Gamo Big Cat 1250 vs the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk because of the obvious differences – one being spring powered and the other nitro powered. It’s simply that I’ll have both with me as I spend the weekend in the wide open spaces and, therefore, give myself the opportunity to focus on these two fun rifles, as well as the hammock I’ll suspend between two nearby trees.

I have taken an extreme interest in the new powerful air rifles, especially those that cost so little, yet offer a lot. This is the main reason that I suddenly own three, and plan to own several more – including pre-charged pneumatics and some in the big bore category (so much for low cost, huh?).

I’ve enjoyed the air rifles tremendously so far, and have even come up with some of my own observations and ideas on how to deal with the recoil and its scope “unsighting” problems with the spring powered rifle. Anyway, I’ve had this thing about air guns since watching a video a while back with a guy who taped himself shooting this huge wild hog with a .50 cal. pneumatic as he filmed with high speed video. You can actually see the pellet as it enters the hog just behind the foreleg on the near side, and then exits at an upward angle on the far side. I’ll track down that video and post it up soon.

It’ll just be me, my camp, a hammock, my Nook loaded with a few David Baldacci and Brad Thor thrillers and the two air rifles – and lots of wide open natural space. So after Friday, don’t expect any posts until Tuesday night, a week from now. After that, it’ll be August until I get another chance to vacation!

Bret Baier didn’t quite go far enough and explain that it was the DEMOCRATS who were in control of both the House and the Senate when the student loan interest rate cap was scheduled to expire in July of an election year by Congress. You gotta hand it to those Dems – they were sure thinking ahead, weren’t they?

But Debbie the Incredible Idiot tried hard to say that it was the fact that the Republicans wouldn’t work with the “President” on a budget as to why there was not a budget passed. Bret was trying to explain to Debbie the Incredible Idiot that Harry Frickin’ Reid wouldn’t even bring the “President’s” proposal to the floor for a vote. That’s how PATHETIC his proposal is.

Now, the question we must ask ourselves is this: Is Debbie Wasserman Schultz THAT pathetically ignorant, or is she really fully aware, as is the REST of America, just how blatant her lies are?

Please explain to me HOW did anyone as unbelievably stupid as this woman ever get into public office??!!

It begins, as with Cornel West and Tavis Smiley, as a couple of words, or even a sentence that may suggest a shift of loyalty. Maybe it might just be better for Obama if he has a contender in the primaries, say.

Or maybe it might start as a suggestion of disappointment in the “President”, to whose gluteus maximus ones lips were previously securely attached, by one such as Michael Moore.

It just might come outright, as in the case of Senator Joe Manchin (D-W Va), who has pretty much stated that he will not be voting for Obama.

Now it has begun in the “king’s media”. A couple of days ago the NY Times came out with plans for a harder hitting critique of Obama and his policies. Now, a reporter for CNN has gone on a rant of sorts, asking the “President” to take responsibility for the things that occur under his watch and to cease shifting blame back to Bush and others.

I don’t know this guy’s name, but i like what he has to say. Even though he began by letting Obama off the hook somewhat for “inheriting” the economy, you have to give him credit for what he actually stated, as well as what he implied.

My only fear is that he might lose his job somehow, or even worse, fall out while jogging. Pray for this guy and his safety, okay?
